Retirement is more than a number.

At GreySmiles, we believe retirement is not simply the day you stop working. It is a transition into a different stage of life, one that brings new questions about money, health, work, relationships, purpose and independence.

GreySmiles was created to help Indians navigate that transition with greater clarity and confidence.

We write for people approaching retirement, those already living it, and families trying to understand what later life may look like. Our focus is particularly on the questions that become important as we move through our 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond:

Can I afford to retire? What will my income look like? How should I think about healthcare? What happens if I live longer than expected? What does retirement mean for my marriage, family and identity? And how do I build a life that is about more than simply having enough money?

What GreySmiles covers

Retirement cannot be reduced to a single investment plan.

We explore the financial foundations, retirement corpus, EPF, NPS, pensions, investments, taxation, insurance, inflation and retirement income, while also looking at the less measurable parts of later life.

That includes health and ageing, second careers, travel, relationships, caregiving, loneliness, purpose, financial independence and the practical realities of living well after 60.

Our belief is simple: financial security gives you choices, but a fulfilling retirement requires more than financial security.

Independent, practical and evidence-led

GreySmiles aims to make complicated subjects easier to understand without reducing important decisions to simplistic answers.

Where we discuss financial, regulatory, health or other specialist subjects, we seek reliable and preferably primary sources, distinguish facts from interpretation, and increasingly work with subject-matter experts and contributors where specialist expertise matters.

We are building GreySmiles as a platform where original thinking, credible evidence and real-world experience come together.

We do not believe readers need another website telling them what product to buy or promising a perfect retirement formula.

They need better questions, clearer information and practical ways to make decisions for themselves.

Who is behind GreySmiles?

GreySmiles was founded by Suneet Manchanda, whose professional background is in building and scaling businesses and digital ventures.

GreySmiles is not built around the claim that one person can be an expert in every aspect of retirement. Instead, the platform brings together research, experience and specialist perspectives across areas where expertise matters from money and retirement planning to health, ageing, work and life after 60.

That distinction matters to us.

We would rather say “we don’t know, let’s find out” than pretend to have all the answers.

What we are building

GreySmiles is evolving beyond a collection of retirement articles.

We are building a knowledge platform for retirement and later life in India with practical guides, original frameworks, expert contributions, useful tools and research designed to help people make better decisions.

Our Retirement Readiness Test is one example of this approach: retirement preparedness is not only about how much money you have, but also about income, health, housing, family, work and what you want your life to look like afterwards.

Over time, we want GreySmiles to become a place where readers can come not just to learn about retirement, but to think through their own retirement.

A note on financial and health information

GreySmiles provides educational and informational content. We do not provide personalised financial, investment, tax, legal or medical advice.

Rules, products and circumstances change, and individual decisions should be made with appropriate professional advice where necessary.

Our objective is not to make those professionals unnecessary.

It is to help you ask better questions before you meet them.

Welcome to GreySmiles

Retirement can be an ending.

It can also be a beginning of more freedom, different work, deeper relationships, new interests, travel, contribution, learning or simply having the time to live differently.

We want GreySmiles to help you prepare for both sides of that transition.

Because retiring from work is one decision.
Figuring out how you want to live afterwards is another.

Welcome to GreySmiles.
